While in the literature, we observed that the antimicrobial action of benzofuran derivatives seems to generally be far more dependent on substitution in the heterocyclic furan ring than on substitution on the aromatic moiety.60 Telvekar and co-personnel investigated a series of benzofuran-3-carbohyd
